In the late 2010s, a dedicated fan known as "DragonSpike" (with help from other community testers like "LangrisserForce" and "Iffy") took up the mantle. Unlike previous attempts that tried to brute-force translation, this team reverse-engineered the game’s event scripting system. They realized that Disc 2, while using the same engine as Disc 1, had compressed its script differently.

Released only in Japan in 2000, Grand Edition is the definitive re-release. It rebalanced every unit (nerfing OP fairies and buffing underpowered giants), added new monsters (including the fearsome Hydra and the divine Phoenix), and introduced 50 new event scenes. It is universally considered the superior version of the game.

However, for nearly 20 years, English-speaking fans faced a cruel irony: the definitive version of the game— Grand Edition —was locked behind a language barrier. Worse, the most coveted part of that release, , remained virtually inaccessible. That is, until the fan translation community stepped in.

Last updated: October 2025. Always check Romhacking.net for the latest version of the patch (v1.03 is rumored to fix the tutorial text).
