Given the mature tone, any of these could be true. The promo for Episode 2, titled “The Family Lie,” shows Aarohi arriving at the Mallik mansion. She is forced to pretend she is still married to Armaan in front of his orthodox, ailing grandmother (played by veteran actress Surekha Sikri ). Meanwhile, a mysterious woman watches from a balcony, holding the same perfume bottle— La Mort.

Bombshell dropped. Aarohi freezes. The episode hits its first commercial break on that cliffhanger. After the break, we learn that Armaan claims Aarohi stole a proprietary formula for a heart medication’s molecular scent (used for aromatherapy in his cardiac ward) and turned it into a luxury perfume. Aarohi eventually agrees, but only to protect her reputation. The negotiation is tense, filled with double entendres about broken hearts and broken trusts. The episode ends back in Aarohi’s tiny laboratory. She opens a locked drawer. Inside is a photo of Armaan with another woman—and a child. The photo is torn in half. She lights a match and burns the picture.

Armaan: “You disappeared for three years. You changed your number. You even changed your signature scent, Aarohi. But you cannot change the fact that you are still my wife.” Aarohi: “Ex-wife. There’s a difference, doctor. Now let me go, or I will scream.” Armaan: “Scream. Then I’ll tell everyone that the genius perfumer is a thief.” Given the mature tone, any of these could be true
